Siemens is making a strategic nine-figure investment in Skeleton Technologies, a developer of high-power supercapacitors, and has formed an exclusive global partnership with the company. The collaboration aims to address the rapid, large power fluctuations caused by AI workloads in data centers, which constrain the expansion of AI infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Siemens will integrate Skeleton’s supercapacitor technology into its data center electrical infrastructure portfolio. The technology acts as an electrical shock absorber, protecting equipment and the grid from power swings.
Siemens gains exclusive rights to sell and scale Skeleton’s products in the data center market. The partnership strengthens Siemens’ position in supporting the build-out of hyperscale data centers and AI factories.
