Roche released two-year data from the Phase IIIb/IV SALWEEN study of Vabysmo (faricimab). The treatment demonstrated significant improvements in vision and retinal health for patients with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).

PCV is a severe subtype of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). Roche presented the findings at the 19th Asia-Pacific Vitreo-retina Society (APVRS) Congress.

More than 60% of patients extended their treatment intervals to 20 weeks by the end of the second year. This durability reduces the long-term treatment burden for patients.

The safety profile of Vabysmo remained consistent and favorable over the two-year period. These results are highly relevant for Asian populations, where PCV represents a high percentage of nAMD cases.
