NFI Group announced that its subsidiary, Motor Coach Industries (MCI), has been awarded a contract by New York City Transit (NYCT) for 92 MCI D45 CRT commuter coaches. The order is supported by state, local and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) funding and will be added to NFI’s third-quarter 2026 backlog.
The new coaches are intended to replace older vehicles on express bus routes. The MCI D45 CRT is designed for high-capacity commuter operations.
NYCT, part of the MTA, operates North America’s largest transportation network. The order continues NFI Group’s long-standing partnership with NYCT as the transit authority modernizes its fleet and works to provide reliable service for millions of daily riders.
