NFI Group subsidiary Motor Coach Industries (MCI) expanded its agreement with Metrolinx, a major public transit agency in Ontario, Canada.
The additional order is for 47 D45 CRT diesel commuter coaches. It brings the current Metrolinx order to 224 vehicles and builds on a previous order from July 2025. The coaches will replace older vehicles in Metrolinx’s fleet.
Analysts view the expansion as a positive sign of sustained demand for NFI’s diesel coach platforms, despite the shift toward zero-emission vehicles. The deal reinforces the company’s relationship with a key customer and adds to its substantial backlog, providing greater certainty for future production and revenue.
Investors will continue to monitor NFI’s ability to execute on its backlog and manage its supply chain.
