TikTok's U.S. entity, TikTok USDS Joint Venture, has joined Lantern, a cross-platform child safety program. The initiative allows members to share signals, such as accounts or content, related to online child sexual exploitation and abuse, helping to identify and stop offenders who move between different services.

Lantern's existing members include major tech companies like Meta, Google, Apple, Microsoft, and X. Since its launch in 2023, the program has facilitated the sharing of over two million signals of potentially violating behavior, leading to more than 350,000 enforcement actions. Alongside joining Lantern, TikTok's U.S. venture is also donating $2 million to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
