Meta Platforms Inc. disclosed approximately $825 billion in future commitments across leases and contracts in a recent filing. The figure is up from nearly $700 billion reported in July 2026. The obligations largely support long-term investments in technological infrastructure.
Operating and finance leases account for $355.7 billion. They cover assets not yet on the company’s balance sheet, including data centers and energy infrastructure. Their terms extend through 2036.
Irrevocable contracts account for another $454.5 billion. They cover third-party cloud computing, energy for data centers and hardware for Meta’s Reality Labs division. The commitments underscore the company’s aggressive investment in AI and metaverse capabilities.
