XPeng has been elected secretary-general of the new Task Force on Exchange of Scenario-Related Information for Automated Driving (TF-ESRI). The task force operates under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA), which harmonizes vehicle regulations. XPeng is the first Chinese company to hold a secretarial role within the UN’s core autonomous driving regulatory framework.

The appointment advances XPeng’s global ambitions and gives the company a role in developing international standards for autonomous vehicle technology. Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said XPeng will bring China’s practical autonomous driving experience to global regulatory collaboration.

XPeng plans to contribute its experience in developing AI-powered vehicles, humanoid robots and robotaxis to discussions on autonomous driving and embodied intelligence.
