Russia’s defense ministry conducted overnight strikes against several Ukrainian industrial and energy facilities. The targets included the Kryvyi Rih steelworks, Ukraine’s largest steel production facility.

Multinational producer ArcelorMittal owns the targeted plant. Russia claims the facility supplies steel products to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.

The facility previously suspended operations in September following Russian ballistic missile attacks. These strikes increase security risks for the global materials supply chain.
