Samsung Electronics achieved an 80% production yield for its sixth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4). This milestone occurred six months after mass production began in February. Manufacturing stabilization improved the yield from an initial rate below 60%.
Samsung plans to increase HBM4 revenue by more than three times in the third quarter. This output surge positions the company to challenge SK hynix for market dominance.
The increased supply supports major customers like Nvidia. The memory will power Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin AI accelerator.
