Samsung Electronics is preparing an unprecedented shareholder return program following record-breaking second-quarter earnings. Analysts estimate that Samsung and SK hynix could collectively return over 300 trillion won ($216 billion) to investors. This potential payout stems from soaring profits in the AI and semiconductor sectors.

Samsung is currently reviewing its three-year shareholder policy through 2026. The current policy commits to returning 50% of free cash flow to investors. Brokerage estimates suggest Samsung’s individual portion of the returns could reach 200 trillion won.

An activist fund is publicly demanding that Samsung increase its return rate to 100% of free cash flow.
