Samsung Electronics denied reports on Tuesday regarding a potential U.S. offering of American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).
Bloomberg News initially reported the tech giant held preliminary discussions with banks about a U.S. listing. These talks followed a record-breaking U.S. market debut by rival memory chipmaker SK Hynix.
Sources described the discussions as being in the very early stages with no final decision reached.
A Samsung spokesperson later refuted the claims, stating the company is not reviewing the possibility of issuing ADRs.
The conflicting reports generated significant market interest given Samsung's position as the world's largest memory chip manufacturer.
