During its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, SpaceX leadership outlined plans to expand its Super Intelligence (SI) and AI compute infrastructure.
CEO Elon Musk said the company aims to reach at least 13 gigawatts (GW) of nameplate compute capacity by the end of 2027. The interim target is 2.5 to 3 GW online by the end of 2026.
SpaceX estimates fourth-quarter 2026 capital expenditures will be between $35 billion and $40 billion to fund the build-out.
The CFO said strong cloud demand is driving payback periods of less than one year for new compute deployments.
