Saab secured a SEK 2.9 billion contract from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for future fighter system concepts. The agreement funds development work from 2026 to 2028, with options to extend through 2030.

The program focuses on new technologies for both manned and unmanned aircraft platforms. Saab will develop flying and ground-based demonstrators to advance systems integration, autonomy, and propulsion.

This order follows previous agreements signed in 2024 and 2025. The work aims to strengthen Sweden’s national air combat capabilities.
