Rua Bioscience has signed a distribution and licensing agreement with PharmAla Biotech to become the exclusive importer and seller of PharmAla’s pharmaceutical-grade LaNeo™ MDMA capsules in New Zealand. The agreement follows Medsafe’s recent approval for authorized psychiatrists to prescribe MDMA for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Rua will draw on its experience handling controlled medicines, including its licensing, quality systems and relationships with prescribers, to enter a new therapeutic category. The agreement is structured to limit upfront investment: the initial shipment will be supplied on consignment, supporting Rua’s strategy of expanding its portfolio without significant upfront investment.
