Microsoft aims to expand its global data center capacity to over 38 gigawatts by 2032, according to Bloomberg News. This target represents a more than threefold increase from its current 12-gigawatt capacity. The expansion responds directly to surging demand for artificial intelligence and cloud services.
The company allocated $145 billion to capital expenditures during its most recent fiscal year. CEO Satya Nadella stated that Microsoft is deploying capacity faster than ever while improving hardware efficiency. These long-term roadmaps include both Microsoft-owned and leased facilities.
