Lockheed Martin delivered the first C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft to the U.S. Navy. This delivery marks a key step in modernizing the nation's airborne nuclear command and control capabilities. Lockheed Martin delivered the aircraft on October 15 from its Marietta, Georgia facility.

This C-130J-30 will become the E-130J Phoenix II. It will take over the Navy's "Take Charge and Move Out" (TACAMO) mission. The TACAMO mission ensures reliable communication with the U.S. ballistic missile submarine fleet. Northrop Grumman will integrate specialized mission systems into the aircraft. The new E-130J fleet will eventually replace the E-6B Mercury aircraft.
