Fortress Investment Group closed a $900 million managed commercial real estate collateralized loan obligation. The transaction includes a 24-month reinvestment period. A pool of 29 loans originated by Fortress backs the deal. These loans are secured against 33 properties. The portfolio primarily targets the multifamily sector with additional exposure to retail, industrial, hospitality, and office assets.
This capital raise provides Fortress with dry powder for prime real estate lending. Noah Shore, global co-head of real estate credit, stated the structure allows for efficient, non-mark-to-market financing. The firm managed $55 billion in assets as of June 30, 2026.
Fortress is positioning itself as a significant lender through various market cycles. This injection of capital may influence lending competition and liquidity for property acquisitions and development.
