Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys (IMFA) completed the first tapping of hot metal at its new Kalinganagar furnace in Odisha. This Greenfield expansion project adds 100,000 metric tons of annual capacity.
Production volumes at the facility will ramp up gradually. A second furnace is scheduled for commissioning in September 2026.
These additions will increase IMFA’s total installed ferro alloy capacity to 500,000 metric tons per year. The company acquired the Kalinganagar plant from Tata Steel in 2025.
