Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) secured the 'Consent to Operate' and Factory License for its Kalinganagar expansion. The company confirmed these regulatory approvals in a filing on July 24, 2026.
IMFA will activate the first furnace of the greenfield project during the upcoming week. The company expects the first tapping of hot metal to occur between August 15 and August 20, 2026.
This new facility will increase IMFA’s total smelting capacity by approximately 40% once it is fully operational.
