NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy announced an enhanced benefits package for Virginia to secure regulatory approval for their proposed merger. The new proposal doubles the duration of residential bill credits from two to four years.

The companies will shield retail customers from costs linked to Virginia's expanding data center load. This plan includes a commitment to create 1,000 new jobs within the state.

The proposal adds $100 million to Dominion’s EnergyShare assistance program for low-income households. These concessions respond directly to feedback from state policymakers and stakeholders.

The companies aim to position the combined entity as a partner for state economic and clean energy goals. The transaction expects to close in the second half of 2027.
