easyJet is advancing Apollo Global Management’s proposed £5.7 billion cash acquisition and has published an official scheme document outlining the offer. The company has scheduled court and shareholder meetings for November 11 to vote on the transaction. easyJet expects the deal to complete by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
The deal has lifted easyJet’s shares. Several European unions, including the European Works Council, oppose the takeover, citing concerns about the airline’s long-term stability and risks to employees. The transaction also requires regulatory clearance to comply with rules requiring European control of the airline.
