easyJet is facing significant disruption after Portugal-based cabin crew began a five-day strike on October 2, 2026. Called by the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC), the strike is scheduled to run through October 6 and affects flights from Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports.
The industrial action has led to hundreds of flight cancellations. SNPVAC estimates around 500 flights could be affected, representing about 80% of flights scheduled to be operated by Portugal-based crews during the strike.
The dispute centers on worsening working conditions and pressure on employees. The strike coincides with a public holiday weekend in Portugal, increasing the impact on travelers.
