Enbridge subsidiary Texas Eastern Transmission has launched a non-binding open season to gauge commercial interest in its proposed Katy to Gillis Expansion Project. The project would provide up to 2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of additional natural gas transportation capacity from the Katy Hub in Texas to the Gillis Hub in Louisiana, responding to growing demand from LNG export terminals, industrial customers and power generators along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The expansion is being developed with Mustang Express Pipeline, owned by ARM Energy Holdings, and would combine services across the two pipeline systems. The open season is scheduled to close on October 30, 2026.
The project is targeted to enter service in early 2031. Final capacity and timing depend on securing sufficient market support and obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals.
