The FBI is leading an investigation into two fires at Enbridge’s Line 5 oil and gas facilities in northern Wisconsin.

One incident occurred last week at a pipeline rerouting site in Ashland County.

The Ashland County fire damaged an equipment trailer and boring machines.

A second fire occurred at an Enbridge company office in Superior.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting in the investigation.

The incidents caused no injuries.

Enbridge attributed the fires to criminal saboteurs and intends to seek full prosecution.

The company has not yet provided a financial estimate for the damages.
