Dabur India has initiated corrective actions following a notice from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The regulator identified an Ayurvedic proprietary medicinal oil incorrectly listed as an edible oil on e-commerce platforms.
Dabur instructed digital retailers to re-categorize the product as an Ayurvedic medicine. This move shifts the product outside the scope of FSSAI food regulations. The company is also updating its official website to reflect the correct classification.
This correction remains independent of a separate FSSAI order regarding the use of terms like 100% Pure. Dabur is currently contesting that specific restriction in court.
