Booking Holdings is backing the official launch of Lola, an AI-powered assistant for booking travel, dining and events. KAYAK co-founders Steve Hafner and Paul English developed the service, which uses a conversational interface to offer personalized recommendations and let users book directly in the chat.
Lola integrates live availability and pricing to streamline trip and event planning from discovery through confirmation. It operates on a membership model, with a free tier and two paid plans offering benefits such as preferred hotel rates and priority access to restaurant reservations.
Launch partners include Booking Holdings brands Booking.com, KAYAK and OpenTable, as well as SeatGeek and GetYourGuide. Lola will not feature paid ads or sponsored placements; recommendations will focus on user preferences.
