Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG) has launched Vayo, a Seattle-based startup that uses AI agents as personal travel assistants. Booking plans to invest up to $100 million in the venture, depending on Vayo’s progress and market conditions. Serial entrepreneur Mike Fridgen leads the company as CEO.
Vayo connects to users’ email inboxes and automatically gathers flight, hotel and restaurant confirmations into a single itinerary. Its AI agents monitor bookings for price drops, flight delays and other changes, and flag potential conflicts, such as a delayed flight that could affect a dinner reservation.
The service is designed to work with reservations made on any platform, including competitors’ services—not just Booking Holdings brands such as Priceline and Kayak. Vayo has opened a waitlist for a free, private beta.
