Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) expanded its technology transfer collaboration with French defense firm Thales.
The agreement enables domestic manufacturing of advanced microwave modules for the SPECTRA Electronic Warfare suite. These components are integrated into Dassault Rafale fighter jets.
Production will utilize BEL’s Bangalore facility, which was previously upgraded with Thales’s support. This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s Make in India program.
The project aims to enhance India’s self-reliance in critical defense manufacturing and create skilled jobs. It also strengthens the strategic defense relationship between India and France.
