BASF SE approved a new share buyback program worth up to €1 billion. The program starts in August 2026 and concludes by April 2027.
This initiative is part of a broader €4 billion repurchase plan scheduled for completion by year-end 2028. The company will cancel the repurchased shares to reduce share capital and increase earnings per share.
BASF also plans to strengthen its balance sheet by reducing net debt. It will make an early repayment of €1.6 billion in bonds and loans during the third quarter of 2026. The company aims to maintain a single-A credit rating.
