Boeing has secured an undefinitized contract action from Lockheed Martin to increase production of its PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) seeker. The deal is valued at approximately $14.7 billion and runs for seven years, formalizing a previous framework agreement. It will allow Boeing to triple output of the component used in the Patriot air defense system.

The seeker guides the PAC-3 MSE interceptor, helping it find and engage advanced aerial threats, including hypersonic and ballistic missiles. The production ramp-up responds to increased demand amid global conflicts and efforts to replenish U.S. and allied stockpiles.

Boeing had begun investing in its Huntsville, Alabama, facility and hiring staff ahead of the award. The expansion is expected to create hundreds of jobs.
