Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is reportedly evaluating a second major U.S. manufacturing campus, likely in Texas. The proposed project could include six additional advanced wafer fabrication plants.

Semiconductor equipment supply-chain sources say the campus investment could exceed the $265 billion TSMC has committed to its Arizona facilities. The Dallas area has been mentioned as a possible site, creating another advanced manufacturing hub for the company in the United States.

TSMC has not officially confirmed the plan, and its board has not approved it. Observers are watching for possible comments from management at the company’s next earnings call on October 15.
