Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) reports robust engagement for its next-generation A14 process technology. Smartphone, high-performance computing, and AI sectors drive this early interest. Customer test designs, known as tape-outs, are currently running ahead of schedule. TSMC expects to begin volume production of the A14 chips in 2028.

The A14 process utilizes second-generation nanosheet transistors. This technology offers a 10-15% performance boost over the preceding 2-nanometer (N2) node. Alternatively, the process provides a 25-30% reduction in power consumption.

TSMC also unveiled plans for A13 and A12 derivatives within the A14 family. The company scheduled mass production for these variants in 2029. This roadmap solidifies TSMC's long-term technology strategy.
