Saudi Aramco’s Jizan oil refinery was reportedly attacked, according to two sources cited by the Financial Times. Officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage. This incident represents the second strike on the facility in recent months.
The refinery is located near the Saudi-Yemen border and has historically been a target for Houthi rebels. While previous attacks caused temporary production disruptions, Aramco reported no material operational or financial impact from those events.
Global oil prices reached six-week highs following the report. Crude prices are currently approaching $100 per barrel amid rising geopolitical tensions.
