BYD is seriously considering France for a new factory as it expands in Europe. At the Paris Motor Show, Executive Vice President Stella Li confirmed France is on the company’s shortlist, citing its competitively priced energy.
The potential factory is part of a plan to establish two more plants in Europe, alongside the facility currently under construction in Hungary. Expanding production within the EU could help BYD mitigate the impact of import tariffs and new Made in Europe local-content rules.
BYD’s long-term vision includes three European assembly plants and a battery factory. Spain is also under consideration for a future site.
