BYD’s global new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reached 463,561 units in September. Sales rose for the fifth consecutive month, increasing 17% year over year. September was the company’s highest monthly sales total of 2026. However, cumulative sales for the first nine months of the year fell 4% from the same period in 2025.
Overseas sales helped drive September’s growth as demand weakened in China. Passenger vehicle exports rose nearly 154% year over year, reaching almost 180,000 units. International sales accounted for nearly 40% of BYD’s total volume. Battery-electric vehicle sales also set a record at 273,143 units.
