Argentina's state-run energy company, YPF Sociedad Anónima, plans to take full ownership of its power generation subsidiary, YPF Luz. On October 8, 2026, YPF's board of directors approved the acquisition of the remaining stake from BNR Power Investments B.V.

The stake represents 24.99% of YPF Luz. The purchase price is approximately $430 million. YPF already held a 75.01% interest in the electricity unit.

The transaction is subject to certain conditions. Once completed, it will make YPF Luz a wholly owned subsidiary of YPF. The deal strengthens YPF's control of a significant player in Argentina's electricity market. YPF Luz is a market leader in the renewable energy sector.
