YPF Sociedad Anónima completed its acquisition of the remaining 24.99% stake in power generation subsidiary YPF Luz, bringing its ownership to 100%. The transaction closed on October 14, 2026, with YPF purchasing the shares from BNR Power Investments B.V. for $430 million.
The deal gives YPF full control of one of Argentina’s largest power generators. YPF Luz has an installed capacity of 3.8 GW and supplies approximately 10% of the country’s electricity. It is also a key player in Argentina’s renewable energy market.
The acquisition supports YPF’s strategy to strengthen its position as an integrated energy company. It gives YPF full operational and financial control over the high-growth subsidiary.
