Workday announced at the Workday Rising conference that Sana will become the company’s new home screen, replacing its traditional interface with an AI-powered experience. Employees can use natural-language prompts to complete tasks across HR, finance and IT.

Sana goes beyond answering questions: it coordinates AI agents to handle complex actions, such as managing expenses and onboarding employees, while following existing company policies and approval processes. The platform will also centralize tasks, meetings and agent activity, reducing the need to switch between applications.

Workday said Sana will integrate with third-party platforms employees already use, including Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google’s Gemini Enterprise and Anthropic’s Claude. This will let users access Workday functions within those existing workflows.
