Volkswagen’s automated driving unit, CARIZON, expanded its partnership with Horizon Robotics on Wednesday.
The collaboration aims to accelerate development of advanced self-driving technologies to compete with local Chinese brands.
CARIZON will gain access to Horizon Robotics’ AI foundation model to build proprietary driving solutions.
The agreement focuses on developing Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities.
Volkswagen expects to begin China deliveries of Level 3 self-driving models in the second half of 2025.
