Volkswagen Group, working with its brands Porsche and CARIAD, announced plans to develop a shared autonomous vehicle data flywheel. The initiative was unveiled at the NVIDIA GTC Berlin conference.
The group is partnering with NVIDIA, Microsoft and Voxel51 to build a physical AI stack that connects fleet data with simulation, training and evaluation. Porsche is leading the initial implementation.
The system aims to use data equivalent to what 11,000 average drivers generate per day to accelerate autonomous driving development across Volkswagen Group. The initiative is part of the group’s broader push into AI-driven automotive technology, with the data loop intended to support ongoing improvements to its autonomous driving systems.
