Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, plans to invest approximately $4 billion in its first U.S. manufacturing plant. The facility will be located at the Middle Georgia Megasite and is expected to create around 4,500 jobs.

Former President Donald Trump announced the plan at a rally, with Audi CEO Gernot Döllner present. The plant is expected to have annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

Audi plans to assemble large, premium SUVs, including the Q7, Q8 and Q9, for the North American market. The move is seen as a response to U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with vehicle production slated to start in the early 2030s. The investment marks a step in Audi’s strategy to strengthen its presence and competitiveness in the U.S. market and build a third major production pillar alongside Europe and China.
