Teamsters President Sean O’Brien warned that 330,000 UPS members are prepared to strike in 2028. The current five-year contract expires on July 31, 2028.
This warning comes two years before the contract's expiration date. Members ratified the existing agreement in August 2023.
The union plans to contest automation and the outsourcing of work to non-union subsidiaries. Negotiations will also focus on protecting health and pension benefits. O’Brien aims to build upon the gains achieved in the 2023 contract.
