Tetra Tech will design the largest dedicated per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) treatment facility in the United States. The City of Dayton, Ohio’s Department of Water selected the company for the project. Construction costs for the facility are projected at $350 million.
The eight-year contract focuses on treating PFAS contamination in the Mad River Well Field. Tetra Tech will develop high-efficiency designs to meet new federal regulations and upgrade aging infrastructure. The project aims to minimize long-term operational costs for the regional drinking water supply.
This selection follows a separate five-year, $25 million contract from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). That agreement tasks Tetra Tech with assessing and managing risks to human health and aquatic ecosystems.
