Judge James Donato approved a $57 million settlement between Tetra Tech EC Inc. and the U.S. government.

The agreement resolves a False Claims Act lawsuit that remained in litigation for nearly 13 years.

Tetra Tech will pay the total sum plus interest to settle allegations of fraud on soil and building-scan contracts.

Three groups of whistleblowers will receive a combined share of nearly $12 million from the recovery.

Judge Donato described the resolution as fair, adequate, and reasonable.
