TotalEnergies and partner AMNI announced the Final Investment Decision for the Ima gas development project offshore Nigeria. TotalEnergies operates the project with a 40% stake. AMNI holds the remaining 60%. The project will develop a shallow-water field. It aims to supply gas to the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) liquefaction plant. TotalEnergies holds a 15% interest in NLNG.

The development plan features a single platform. A 22-kilometer pipeline will connect it to the NLNG facility on Bonny Island. Production will begin in 2028. The project expects a plateau of 350 million cubic feet per day. This volume is equivalent to over 60,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The project features a low-cost and low-emission design. It will supply about one-third of the gas needed for NLNG's Train 7 expansion.
