Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) committed an additional $100 billion to its Arizona operations. This expansion brings the company's total planned U.S. investment to $265 billion.

The funding supports the construction of at least four additional chipmaking plants and advanced packaging facilities. These factories will produce 2-nanometer and smaller chips.

TSMC reported a 77.4% year-over-year increase in second-quarter net income. Earnings reached NT$706.56 billion ($22.35 billion) due to surging demand for AI processors.

The company raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to between $60 billion and $64 billion. This expansion establishes a full domestic supply chain for U.S. customers from wafer production to final packaging.
