Tesla has confirmed its entry into Vietnam, posting openings for roles in sales, service and charging-infrastructure development. The move puts Tesla in competition with VinFast, the dominant local electric-vehicle maker, which holds a substantial share of the Vietnamese auto market.

Tesla shares rose more than 9% over the previous two sessions. The rally was driven primarily by rumors of a potential merger with SpaceX and a Barclays analyst upgrade tied to that possibility, rather than by the company’s latest earnings report.

Tesla reported unexpected positive free cash flow of $1.53 billion in its third-quarter results. The result largely reflected a significant reduction in capital expenditures, not improved profitability.
