SpaceX has imposed a speed cap on its military-grade Starlink terminals in Ukraine, cutting off service to devices moving faster than 100 miles per hour.

A Ukrainian presidential adviser said Wednesday, October 14, that SpaceX made the change overnight without warning. The adviser said it had already disrupted several combat missions. SpaceX has not officially commented.

SpaceX previously applied speed limits to commercial terminals in Ukraine at the Ukrainian government’s request to prevent misuse by Russian forces. The new cap affects military-tier service.

Changing service terms for a military client during a conflict could affect future government contracts for SpaceX’s StarShield program. Despite the controversy, most analysts maintain a positive outlook on the stock, with a mean target price of $220.37.
