SpaceX is scheduled to launch its Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission from Cape Canaveral on October 19. The mission will carry 32 payloads for various customers.
The Falcon 9's primary payload will be the second demonstration mission of Starfall, a new capsule designed to autonomously return experiments and other cargo from orbit to Earth. The test aims to validate the capsule's reentry, splashdown and recovery systems.
Starfall is part of SpaceX's strategy to support in-orbit manufacturing and research by enabling the return of materials to Earth. The mission also includes more than 30 other small satellites.
The reusable Falcon 9 booster is slated for its 19th flight. It will land on a droneship in the Atlantic.
