SpaceX announced plans for its 15th Starship test flight, aiming to catch both the Super Heavy booster and the Starship upper stage with the launch tower’s mechanical arms. It would be the company’s first attempt to recover the entire launch system, a key step toward rapid reusability.
The announcement follows a strong third-quarter earnings report. SpaceX beat expectations, reporting revenue of $14.575 billion.
Separately, reports said Tesla and SpaceX have formed special committees to discuss a potential merger. Elon Musk is reportedly keen to complete a deal before the end of the current presidential term. Reports of the talks sent shares of both companies lower.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that Musk personally ordered a speed cap on Starshield satellite services, affecting Ukrainian drones.
